Recreation at Bluewater

Bluewater is a private, 250-acre sandpit lake paradise with average depths exceeding 35 feet and miles of sandy beaches — a rare combination that makes it exceptional year-round. Whether you're casting a line at sunrise or gliding across the water with the wind at your back, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Private Lake — Residents Only

Only watercraft owned by Bluewater residents are permitted, including kayaks, paddleboards, and all other personal watercraft. Boats and Jetskis may only be operated by Bluewater residents or immediate family.

Zebra Mussel Prevention — Important

Transporting watercraft between lakes is one of the primary ways zebra mussels spread, and the damage they cause is irreversible. Please be diligent. Any watercraft arriving from an outside lake must either:

  • Be tagged and dry-docked for a minimum of two weeks, or

  • Be professionally steam cleaned before launching

This applies to all watercraft, including small craft and paddleboards.

Whether you prefer shoreline casting or heading out on a boat, the lake offers plenty of opportunities to reel in a great catch. We are a catch and release lake for Walleye and Bass.
